Elevate: The Inclusive Workplace Pledge

Business in the Community Ireland’s Elevate Pledge supports businesses to build more inclusive workplaces. The ultimate ambition of this initiative is for a workforce that is representative of all members of Irish society.

Our workplaces have become more diverse, incorporating a multiplicity of backgrounds, experiences and identities. This has brought huge benefits to Irish business. However, diversity alone is not enough. Workplace inclusion is about creating a culture where everyone feels welcome, has access to opportunities and is supported to thrive.

People in puzzle pieces fitting together

  • Participate in a BITCI report which will publish the diversity profile of the collective workforce of all signatory companies.
  • Annually develop one tangible action that ensures the recruitment or retention of diverse talent.
  • Annually report on the impact of this action.
  • Increase ambition on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion agenda.
  • Collaborate with fellow signatories to learn and create solutions for social impact.

Elevate Updates 2026

BITCI’s Elevate: The Inclusive Workplace Pledge is grounded in five years of data that shows a powerful story of progress and learnings. This latest report reflects how employers across Ireland have strengthened disclosure, improved representation, and built greater psychological safety over time. While measurement has improved, inclusive outcomes have not always kept pace. By looking across this five year journey, the report offers valuable insight into what sustained commitment can achieve, and where renewed focus is needed to accelerate the impact on inclusion.
