Elevate: The Inclusive Workplace Pledge

Business in the Community Ireland’s Elevate Pledge supports businesses to build more inclusive workplaces. The ultimate ambition of this initiative is for a workforce that is representative of all members of Irish society.

Our workplaces have become more diverse, incorporating a multiplicity of backgrounds, experiences and identities. This has brought huge benefits to Irish business. However, diversity alone is not enough. Workplace inclusion is about creating a culture where everyone feels welcome, has access to opportunities and is supported to thrive.

Elevate Updates 2025

The Elevate campaign, with its focus on measuring workforce diversity, fostering peer learning, and creating accountability, is uniquely positioned to support businesses in building inclusive workplaces which ultimately reflect the Irish society. In 2025, the campaign sits within a broader landscape of pushback on DE&I in some international markets, transformative policy shifts, including the EU Pay Transparency Directive and growing expectations around social value in procurement, all of which have implications for inclusion and fairness in the workplace.  Based on the data submitted by 60+ businesses comprising over 160,000 employees in Ireland, the Elevate pledge generates an annual report showcasing how businesses reflect society, key DE&I trends as well as examples of tangible actions taken by businesses to build more inclusive workplaces.
