Member Needs Assessment
As a member company, a key activity in our partnership is the Member Needs Assessment which is designed to identify your current strengths, challenges and opportunities in deepening the integration of sustainability into your business.
The Member Needs Assessment is used with all new member companies joining the network as a core onboarding activity and regularly reviewed thereafter with long-standing members to provide clarity on the sustainability agenda and agree priorities for the coming years.
This assessment enables BITCI advisers to build a picture of your ambition and sustainability initiatives. Their conclusions and recommendations guide member companies in creating the greatest sustainability impact in the areas you prioritise over the short and long term and are used to design a tailored membership action plan to make the best use of BITCI network and expertise.
It involves semi-structured interviews with key member company personnel and teams, taking a maximum of one day and covering all EESG topics. The insights gained are analysed and presented back, with a focus on sustainability strengths, challenges, and opportunities for creating the greatest impact. A concluding session is then held to identify and discuss priority areas of work.
John Paul Construction
Upon joining, John Paul Construction found the Member Needs Assessment beneficial as it gave them an external perspective on their sustainability priorities and actions as well as identifying the opportunities they could seize.
The assessment took place in-person allowing BITCI advisers to meet eight representatives of their Senior Leadership Team and ESG Committee as well as the Sustainability Team. Transparent conversations provided BITCI advisers with a good overview of their context and sustainability journey so far. This led to a report providing a number of conclusions and recommendations with forward-looking and sector-specific insights that John Paul Construction should pursue.
Since then, John Paul Construction:
- Released their first sustainability report,
- Signed up to Elevate – the Inclusive Workplace Pledge,
- Availed of one-to-one support and advice on various topics as part of their membership action plan.
In parallel to advisory services, John Paul Construction take full advantage of their BITCI membership by engaging in the network to build their capabilities and navigate the sustainability challenges.
