Time to GROW

A Transition Year Work Placement programme providing 100 work placements to students from DEIS schools in Dublin.

The programme supports companies offering work placement opportunities to students outside of their employee cohort and recruits students. It provides students with an opportunity to connect with companies and business areas on meaningful work experience. It also supports the participating companies’ Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

Work experience is 3-5 days on site across the academic year. Full support is provided, including liaison with the school, recruiting and preparing students and support materials for companies

Davy

Davy have been offering a TY Programme to relatives of clients and staff for the last 5 years.

However, they wanted to offer an additional TY Programme to students that wouldn’t ordinarily be given the opportunity to take part in the programme. They heard about BITCI Time to GROW initiative and wanted to get involved.

The Davy InspireHER TY programme focuses on introducing young women to the world of finance and showcasing the wide range of career opportunities the industry has to offer. Last year, BITCI sourced and coordinated 30 students across 8 different DEIS Dublin schools on the Davy programme. It is a great opportunity for students to explore new careers and raise their aspirations. During the programme many Davy staff volunteer their time to share their career journeys and impart valuable life lessons during the sessions. The students gain such insights and understanding that it opens doors for some that were locked to them beforehand.

It was a pleasure working with the girls. They are a credit to their families, schools & community. Wishing them every success and perhaps some of them might join Davy in the future. Big thanks to everyone in BITCI.”
