Business Working Responsibly Mark – Cornmarket
Cornmarket has been a proud supporter of Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) for 18 years through their Employee Volunteering Programme in Education. This long-standing partnership reflects Cornmarket’s dedication to making a positive impact in local communities.
Driven by a desire to align with their values and mission, Cornmarket embarked on the journey to achieve the Business Working Responsibly Mark, which is awarded to companies that demonstrate a best-in-class commitment to sustainability. The company saw this as an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability across all aspects of their operations.
As Cornmarket undertook the project, they discovered a wealth of impactful initiatives already in place across the four pillars of The Mark. However, the process revealed an opportunity to adopt a more holistic approach to managing and integrating these efforts. Achieving The Mark allowed Cornmarket to step back, identify an overarching strategy, and refocus their sustainability priorities for maximum impact.
Cornmarket is now focused on continuous improvement, striving to maintain the standards of The Mark as they evolve and grow. Achieving this certification has been a powerful signal to staff, customers, and partners that Cornmarket is deeply committed to sustainability. They recognise not only its importance in addressing today’s challenges but also its benefits for future generations.
Why the Mark is Important?
"Many of our clients are also accredited to The Mark, and it helps us to identify like-minded organisations who we can collaborate with on other projects and learn from within the various Leaders Groups within BITCI.”
"The benefits of having the Business Working Responsibly Mark are numerous to a company in terms of reputational benefit… it’s something you can use externally whether you’re talking to customers or working with suppliers”
