Collective Action

Creating a workforce that mirrors the diversity of the population is the objective of BITCI’s Elevate, Inclusive Workplace, Pledge. Our members know that being an inclusive employer leads to greater productivity, retention of staff and supports social cohesion. Signatories to the Elevate Pledge must proactively measure (against different diversity indicators), disclose and profile their workforce. By signing up to the Pledge, companies are making a collective public commitment to social inclusion. To date, 65 large (national and multinational) companies have signed up to it, spanning different sectors including financial services, professional services, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, retail, transportation and construction – a real cross section of the Irish economy. It represents a combined workforce of over 150,000 employees. Each of these companies are taking proactive measures to diversify their workforce and create an inclusive workplace culture. Collectively, they are helping to break down social barriers, improve cultural understanding and creating level playing field.
